God’s Love in Revelation
Our society sees Valentine’s Day as a symbol of love. Romantic love, familial love, and friendship is celebrated on the day painted with red and pink hearts. While a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates might symbolize love for some, we here at The Animated Word see an even greater example of love every time we open our Bible.
The story of Jesus’ work on the cross is the greatest example of love there has ever been. But God’s love shines throughout the Bible, even in unexpected places. By now you know how much we love the book of Revelation. Does it come to mind when you think of examples of God’s love? For many of us, maybe not. It’s easy to be distracted by the passages that are hard to swallow, the scary depictions of the end times. However, the book of Revelation echoes and amplifies Christ’s love.

God promises to hold us close. He is not an absent, distant God, but a comforting, loving Father.

Ultimately, Revelation is a story of hope. We are held in the loving arms of the Father. His love endures forever and he is faithful until the end. He will never leave us nor forsake us. While some of the imagery in Revelation may seem frightening, those who follow God need not be afraid, because He is with us and we will be victorious. That beats any Valentine!
